Fuji X Series

Or even the Viltrox 75mm f1.2 - super bokehlicious.

This is next on the list, what’s stopping me is I seldom use the 56/1.2, I’m really more a 35mm or 50mm kinda guy, the longer focal length comes out when I’m shooting with 2 bodies.

It is a relatively cheap lens, I saw a used one on sale for less than £300.

I concur. It’s not a tremendously versatile focal length but when you have a use for it then it comes into its own.
I bought it on release (which was March IIRC) and I actually only used it in anger for the first time last weekend when I was photographing an 18th birthday party. On that occasion I was using the 16-55 on a second body so I was covered for most eventualities.

Mint X-T4 for £899, what do we think?

That's a decent price, but....if you accept some scuffs and scratches....save £50. But £50 for a mint one sounds good, I almost bought one last week for the same price but i don't need dual cards for personal stuff.

It's not a bad price - I sold mine for £855 back in the summer and it had a couple of scuffs on it.
What I would say is, if travel is high on your list of priorities and you don't need the higher end features of the X-T4 i.e. dual card slots and deeper buffer etc then I would save a bit and go X-S10. As far as image production goes they are identical but it's worth noting the X-T4 is a bit of a beefcake (in terms of Fuji APS-C bodies).
On the flip side the EVF on the X-T4 is very nice - a notable step up from the smaller X-Txx and X-S bodies.

On the other hand, I am actually looking forward to have a PASM control camera again! As they are essentially 1 hand control cameras. All the Sony and Fuji bodies are designed to be a 2 hand control cameras experience.

The way I shoot I usually only have to adjust exposure compensation and occasionally SS. Aperture is fixed and ISO is either locked or using AUTO ISO profile.

And the Expo compensation on these bodies are much too stiff IMO. They work, but not as fast to use on the fly.

But anyway, personal preference, if you like to get one, £899 is a decent price now. Although think about why you sold the last body in the first place, because it wasn't that long ago?

I’m going to sell my X-T200 but MPB are low-balling on the offer. What do you think it’s worth as a private sale, body only or with the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II? No original packaging.

Have you tried Wex for price?

I sprang for the mint X-T4, from LCE. I did see this one but I found the silver finish marks a lot easier than the black.

Got the 33mm 1.4 coming too. Plan to dabble in video a bit for the salon business and also see if I can produce some stuff for my brothers dessert shop business too.

Mine has arrived! (almost missed it, DPD attempted delivery to my neighbour for some reason, I had to chase him down the streets in my shorts and T-shirt in the rain to catch him before he drove away.)

First impression

1 - Shutter button is "deep"
2 - Needs an eyecup. There simply isn't one. (Ordered one that mounts onto the hotshoe)
3 - It is very small, the height of it is less than the width of my iPhone 14 Pro.

But focusing is miles better than X-T1, I like it can do pre-focus, basically constantly focusing, but i don't think i will do that as it seems like a quick way to kill the battery. Using back button focusing and eye or face detect work well. Love the controls and how fast i can already get around when taking a photo, from moving focus points to exposure compensation.

Overall, impressive little thing, but I think i need a half case or some kind of bottom plate it make it a fraction taller. Can't find one i like for a reasonable price yet.

I had this one from Smallrig when I had my X-S10:

SMALLRIG X-S10 L Bracket, L-Shape Plate for Vertical Shoot, L Plate for FUJIFILM X-S10 Camera - 3086 https://amzn.eu/d/8gneU55

They have since been discontinued however you’ll find them on eBay - there’s one on there at the moment if you search.

Oooh cheers, will get that one. There are some 3rd party ones but all the user reviews comment on a bad fit, even when it is 4/5 stars. There are some leather ones on Aliexpress but they all have a button to close the battery door on the side which gets in the way.

I have a SmallRig baseplate on my X-T4 and cage on my GFX - both are absolutely excellent. In fact, everything I've used from SmallRig has been great!

I have a smallrig one for my A7R3, its heavier vs say…a leather half case which I also have for the A73, which shares the same body and interchangeable.

However, it seems the half case for under £30 for the X-S10 are all a bit rubbish so the Smallrig will be the best option for this body…I think.
