Hi,

I have a fujistu amilo li 1705 laptop and it works fine with the battery but when I plug the charger in, the laptop or battery will not charge...

Is this because the DC socket is knackered?

If yes, is it difficult to remove the faulty one and resolder a working one...

How much do these sockets cost?

Please help

Thanks..

is dc socket loose? could be small relay on mainboard is broken. i doubt it'll be worth to get the dc socket to be replaced by shop as it'll be costly.

if the laptop is more than 2 years old, get new one

I've recently changed a DC socket on a motherboard of a Packard Bell EasyNote laptop. The hardest part is taking the laptop to bits . Lots of screws and bits of plastic to loose . The socket was bought from a supplier on ebay for about £4.99 .It was shipped from the Isle of Man .I think they do a fitting service for £50 plus shipping costs . I thought that was a lot of money to charge for whats involved , but it is a bit tricky .
Three pictures below of the mobo ,the blank space on the mobo where the old one was soldered with the new socket ready to go on , and the new one fitted and working fine .You might as well give it ago at doing the job your self .
