I've got a second hand XSPC 4870 full cover block and wonder if anyone could tell me if I'm best to use TIM pads or compound when I fit it?

Also, am I best to actaully take it apart for cleaning or is there a similar method to that of the rads with vinegar/hot water?

Thanks.

I use Cif bathroom cleaner. It's a weak acid like vinegar, but with surfactants and it brings copper up an absolute treat.

Oh - and MX-2 is the TIM you want. You may find you have to use pads on some items because the build tolerances are not that tight and sometimes there are big gaps between the surface mounted components and the block.
