I'm looking at switching my 900 full fibre from Cuckoo over to Onestream as it's £20 a month cheaper.

However during the sign up process it turns out the prices Onestream advertise don't include a router, it's a monthly extra charge of £5/6.

So figured I can just put that money towards buying a better router, instead of paying them a monthly fee that works out a lot more than the router actually costs.

I just upgraded my PC and have a 2.5g ethernet port on it. Is it worth spending the extra for a router with a 2.5g port? I'm thinking that I don't really need it if the internet connection is only 900 anyway?

I see quite a few of them only have one faster port as well, so not exactly sure what the point is if the rest of the network is all on 1g ports?

Onestream? Have you looked them up at all and seen the feedback? They literally have a 1 star review on Google :p

If red flags needed a prime example of a provider to avoid, this would be it.

The connection is all coming through the same cables right?

I had already clocked the free trials of things you need to cancel and as mentioned I got surprised by the fact there's an extra monthly charge for a router.

I'll take a look at the reviews.

Thanks for all the input, I'll give them a wide berth having read the reviews.

Not sure I'll even get a separate router then as the ISP supplied ones have sufficed till now. Won't need to share the connection so 1g ports are fine for my current purposes.
