Full Game Pass service coming to PC (eventually)

It's going to take some time to get a decent load of games on the Windows Store. Probably a lot of new contracts to be signed for games that are only on Steam at the moment. Either that or they'll be porting the Xbox 360 emulator across to PC.

Gamepass already on PC

It isn't. The games you can play on PC as part of the Xbox Game Pass are a side effect due to Play Anywhere. I can't play Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC nor Fallout 4 nor the other 100-odd games that aren't Play Anywhere.

What I posted here a few days ago. The current game pass only lets you access 14 Play Anywhere titles. The full service is over 100 including the recently remastered Halo collection. If MS release that on PC its going to be very popular!

I agree it'll be popular but I hate to see where this is all going, we now only own "licences" for our games even if you buy physical copies now this "streaming" service, it's like Netflix and all other content, we no longer own any of it. I bought a PS4 not long ago and I love being able to actually have the disk and know the game is mine no matter what happens, unless of course my house burns down, if that happened my PS4 is the last thing I'd be worried about.

I hate it as well because they can retire games from the service for no reason given if a music licensing deal runs out for the publisher for instance. But I can see it catching on in the near future in a big way who would not want to have a massive library of recent games for only £7.99 a month (until they start jacking the prices up eventually!) the 14 games already on the service are a bargain for £2.99 for the first 2 months then £7.99 a month afterwards especially if you own an Xbox1 you get the other 200 or so titles including all the remastered in 4K + HDR Halo's & Gears Of War 1+4 on PC (and 5 when it comes out as well as 2 & 3 on Xbox1)

Problem is I only buy a game every 3 months, and when I do it's normally at a massive discount, I'm not the kind of guy that likes owning games he'll never play, got at least 15 games that I haven't even finished yet!

15 is nothing to be concerned about.

Many of us have a steam list of shame and in some cases (mine)the number goes into the 100s.

It was getting out of hand however I started beating my backlog and am still playing thru some of them now, one thing I do like about buying games on sale is the hardware keeps up nicely, as some of the games are 2-3 years old or more.

That's my policy too. Most sale games are 2-3 years old and run nicely on my R9 290. Then games from now which would struggle will run nicely on whatever I have in a few years time.
