Hi folks.

I've just installed more ram. Was using 2 x 512 sticks and I've just added a further 2 x 1Gb sticks.

Check in Windows system and it finds 2.5Gb but cpuz finds 3Gb.

I am using an ATI x1950xt gfx card on a Foxconn NF4SK8AA-8ekrs MOBO

Any ideas why it isn't recognising the full 3Gb.

I read somewhere about xp 32bit not being able to read anything over 3Gb and also about there only being so much memory addresses. Not sure what all that means.

Hoping its something I can alter so its all recognised. Its seeing my 2 x 512's as 2 x 256.

Now, I've just been looking over my old posts and found 1 from when I installed the new hardware.

At the time I tried to install the 2 x 512 sticks in the dual channel slots (1+2) but it was detected as 2 x 256. I had to run the system in single channel (slots 1+3) for it to be recognised as a full 1Gb.

Is this purely down to uncompatible sticks and the system just dows the amount it can detect from them? 1 stick of the 512 is twinMos and the other Ocz
