Is it normal for something like a D5 pump to come in an envelope rather than a retail box? I also got sent a rather expensive PCI-E m.2 card wrapped in bubble wrap? Is this normal?
Bought from OCUK?
Yes - why?
If the card is OEM then these usually only come in a Anti-Static bag and then protected for shipping.
Similar applies to Hard drives, optical drive, CPUs and even GPU's. my old 8800GTX was just shipped in protective wrapping.
Can you link to what you bought? Was it new or out of the b grade section? is there any box with the card or just a anti static bag and bubble wrap?
Just as its AHCI bother there is no retail packaging. On the front you have the product sticker and the back is bare. The firmware revision we are testing with today is BXW7000Q. Overall, the thickness is under 4mm and it weighs in under 7g.
My m.2 drive just came in some bubble wrap. The drive is oem as Samsung never released it as a retail item. Nothing to worry about. The pump on the other hand seems odd.
Edited my post. There is no retail version anywhere. What is the problem?
