It's not full screen, mate. It's "just" desktop or maximized play. Formulating a *proper* question would significantly help finding proper answer

Sorry! I did not have time to explain lol.... Every time i try and do full screen video its goes like that.

What player are you using?

I suggest giving VLC a go.

chrome is crap I'd have to check on one of my builds that has chrome; hardware accel off? using html 5? does it do it in another browser?

Chrome runs full screen videos on youtube etc. just fine. The problem probably lies elsewhere.

Had this issue a while back on another PC. I couldn't find a fix so settled for auto-hiding the taskbar. Terrible, I know, but time spend searching online was wasted. A quick search today comes up with this discussion, which suggests resetting the UI scaling in Windows. This might have been the issue as I remember that PC was using increased scaling.
