Full system information

KK thanks, I suppose that if I ever wanted a graphics upgrade I could always use another better nvidia card when the time comes, but for the minute I'm pretty happy with this system :D
Can anyone tell me what rpm the HDD gets, im guessing its around 7200 but i cant see it anywhere :(

Sorry for all these questions btw, just want to make sure I make the right choice :D

Yes, it's 7200

The freezer Pro 7 is a good cooler, but not great with quads, my q6600 is a 1.275 vid and runs 3220mhz at 1.335v (temps hit 70deg), to get higher needs lots more volts, 3500mhz needs 1.45+v and got too hot with the freezer on mine (temps over 75deg), so i changed to an OCZ Vindicator 2 and dropped temps by 6-7deg, but still too warm for every day use.
Note: no two quads will clock the same, you may be lucky and get a good clocker, and the IP35 Pro is a great board for this, as for SLI, no is does not support it, but like me you can add a second card to offload the Physx stuff, so if you decided to get a bigger card in the future you can keep your old one for the physx :)

Hmmm, ok thanks for the advice. Since its only overclocked to 3.0GHz (since I got the 4GB of ram) it shouldnt overheat too much, if at all, right?

And yeah, so your saying that in the future i could get a second card even though the board doesnt support SLI? :/ <----Confused :D

Sli is two or more Nvidia cards. Crossfire is two or more ati cards.

Intel chipsets (p35, p45, X38, X48) support crossfire.

Nvidia chipsets (6*0i 7*0i) support sli

The p35 boards support crossfire where one pci-e runs at 16x and the other lane at 4x, this holds back performance. The p45 boards support 8x and 8x, which doesn't reduce performance much from the 16x-16x that the X38 and X48 boards offer.

I see now =D, will leave the updating of my graphics card for another time. When the time comes will just get a totally new card, depends on whats out at the time.

OK last question. Should i go for:
32bit Vista Basic
64bit Vista Basic
32bit Vista Premium
or 64bit Vista Premium
Am mainly gonna use this pc for gaming etc so compatability means a lot, as well as performance.

4gb Ram + Vista64

any less 32bit Vista would be fine...

Get Home premium for either choice. (I'm currently using Vista64, and playing every game fine)

64bit home premium is the OS of choice for most people.

the only things that you may have a problem with are drivers for old printers and such.
