My friend has bought a laptop that keeps BSODing randomly. Before I peruse the system restore route I would like to check the system isn't overheating. I am looking for a test that is simple to download (no WinRAR if possible) and will test most of the components at once. It also needs to have very quick effects as I have been told it tends to go about ten minutes after loading a browser or other software. I'm hoping it survives this so we know it is not hardware and go ahead with re-installing the OS.

Prime95 is what most overclockers use to "stress test" the system. Give it a go, hope it helps
