Full system upgrade needed?

So just wondering if its worth investing in a new system or a new GPU.

System currently

I5 3570k @ 4.8ghz
8gb DDR3
3gb 7970 ghz edition

I say wait for the new AMD 3 series coming out shortly - even then I would see how the performance fairs.

CPU & memory are fine.

Do you have a SSD and what model is you PSU.

I have a 128gb Samsung SSD and a Corsair AX750

New gpu would be the most beneficial upgrade. Your CPU is still more than plenty for gaming.

would agree, get a new GPU, the rest is fine.

see what AMD release as that is what I am doing after returning my 970

Is there anything your PC has issues running, your GPU should be fine for 1080p.

There isn't 1 specific game that it struggles to run, its more of the "Its not 60fps" reason. And I'd like to start to move more into 4k down sampling.

That makes sense, whats your monitor and budget. You could just get a 970/980GTX.
