Full upgrade or just graphics card?

I've got a C2D E2180 system with a 1950x graphics card.

Is it worth me spending £100 or so on a low end card (not really much of a gamer- occasionally play the odd game like GTA4) or splash out and go for an i5 system with a similar sort of budget on a card?

I was looking at some overclocked bundles, but hoping I could possibly get away with a graphics only option?

How about getting a card upgrade first, seeing how gaming is improved, then if theres no joy, get a new CPU/RAM/board bundle.

But I do remeber going from a Athlon dual core CPU to a Phenom quad core CPU while still using a decent graphics card at the time, and the quad core CPU made the biggest difference to GTA4.

Excellent. I was thinking along those lines. It's a 3 year old system now so was wondering if it was worth the plunge.

Will try a graphics card and see what happens :D

£100 will get you something like the gtx460 which is more of a midrange card tbh. I have a 5850 which is similar and it's fantastic so i'd highly recommend doing that upgrade especially from a x1950 (my friend went from an x1950 to an 8800gt and he was blown away, the gtx460 is at least twice as fast as the 8800gt). If you find your dual core is holding you back then upgrade the rest. Make sure to overclock it to around 3ghz or more to reduce the bottleneck.

EDIT: The gtx460 on this week only offer is the best one in your price range. Don;t bother with the ocuk one at £100 as it's only 768mb.
