Full Valet - £63 - shall I buy it? Pictures of my car inside

I got myself a Fiesta 1.25 Zetec for £500 last week, but it's really dirty. I hoovered and sprayed the dashboard but it still looks crap and worn.

Is a valet worth it? They come to my house for £63 and spend 4 hours on it. A cheaper option would be to just to get some interior shampoo and wash it myself. But I'm thinking there's no way I can get it to their standard without spending double the amount of time and buying loads of chemicals.

£63 quid for a "full" valet sounds like it's going to be given a once over with the cheapest products known to man, and the end result will be a dash shine that rivals an oil slick.

I'd just spend two hours on it and blitz it myself.

I don't want to be nasty, but I can't help feeling the £63 would have been far more usefully employed by buying a nicer example to start with. No amount of valeting is going to fix the festering rear arches and matt finish on the paint.

My vax carpet cleaner with upholstery attachment was about £60 and got my white seats almost as good as new. As for the dash you need to use something that is going to dialogs the ground in crud then go over it with a matt dash cleaner.

£63 will get you an inside and out clean and polish but probably won't resolve the issues that are bugging you.

Dude it's my first car and it was £500. I don't think I could have got that much better for £563.

Right going to get some interior shampoo and see what happens.

I don't think spending over 10% on what you paid for the car on a valet is very constructive. Get stuck in yourself.

Gotta be worth giving the eastern car wash people a tenner and if they do a good job then your laughing if not you've only lost a tenner?

Not when you have the immigrant car washes. Either get them to do it or get someone from detailing world out. I had my old Leon fully shampood engine bay steamed and paint machine polished for £120 by a guy recommended on dw. The random valeting blokes are no good without recommendations. It goes without saying that the immigrant wash is going to be better value on a car like this.

I'd just get the inside cleaned out and the outside given a once over by the polish crew then give it a polish/wax when you get home.

I love doing the outside with all manner of products but the inside is just a lame job so I just pay to have it hoovered out. :D

Are those mobile valet services ever worth it? been temped myself ATM

My cousin started up his own mobile business last year; has been doing pretty well and uses top products as well. He charges a fair wack though, seems to be getting more high performance car owners who are willing to pay a few bills.

There's a plethora of those immigrant car wash places in Belfast. The guys just off Boucher Road opposite Marks and Spencer and the ones in on the Lisburn Road going towards Dunmurry are what you want for a car like that. Don't waste money valeting your first car

Just wash it outside or take to a car wash. For the inside I'd try a steam cleaner or car shampoo. It helps to take the seats out but isn't essential. I really don't know how people can let their seats get like that (appreciate it was the previous owner rather than you). Regardless of the cars value I can't stand sitting on something grubby.

Hand car was up here is only a fiver and is run by some chaps from polandia. Do a good job as well, get into the wheels and everything.

Bargain :)
