Fullrun tyres

AGW summed that up I think.

I've been looking at Marangoni Zeta tyres. £60 a corner for my Type-R which does seem very cheap but they have gotten some decent reviews, especially for the wet. Odd.

How much are the Fullruns and what size are they in?

If you're going to get any budget tyre, I'd recommend some Nankang NS-2s. I've read lots of good things about them (for the price bracket they're in anyway) and I'm mighty tempted to get some since I ripped a chunk out of my NS tyre yesterday :(

In my size (205/45/R16), they're £40 from mytyres including P&P.

Anyone have any experience with them? They less then half the price of the normal tyres I get.

Think they're made in the same factory as Jokeahama.

I have fullruns on my Astra, good grip in the dry, you seem to know when your pushing a bit *too* far, as for the wet, i don't like them at all, infact i only make a point of driving around town because they are just too unpredictable, maybe its because the car has too much power going through little wheels (150bhp - 195/45/15) but even on simple things such as roundabouts, turning the wheel only means carring on forwards.

No that just means they are useless. I have no problems with 185 wide tyres in my Dolomite, and with my new engine I should be pushing near 150.

Though saying that I can lock up at 65mph if I need to stop quick.

I want to beat people like you, and those nuggets running around on 106 GTi's with CERAT EXTREMO tyres, with a big spongey bat.

If you care so little about your cars handling you'll fit tripe, why buy a Type R?

Yes they crack up and un wrap themselves with frightening regularity :D

I wouldn't want a set on any car weighing 1,000 kg's or more.

They are offered with a cheap wheel and tyre package from people like Revolution & Others.. It makes there advertised prices look competitive.

Seriously, who the **** are you and why do you insist jumping to conclusions?

I was asking an opinion. They were getting good reviews and I read about a test with an Impreza WRX who noted the brilliant wet perfomance compared to his standard tyres. I never said I had bought them, I was looking into tyres and information led me to believe these tyres were good, but I have doubts hence my post.

If I was to buy new tyres I would probably get some more pots as that's what I'm used to driving with. Great in the dry and can be slippy in the wet, but at those slippy times you're probably just driving too fast for the conditions anyway so they're giving you a good signal to slow down and be safe.

I know you regard yourself highly by being knowledgeable about these things, but instead of being a condescending ******, why not try and help people for a change?

If you're looking for decent budget tyres, get Nankang NS2's.

They are very predictable, good grip in the wet and dry. I can't fault them.

because not everyone needs track car style handling and goes racing about the roads and into hedges etc

some people are happy just driving normally even if there car is capable of more

Nice rant. Whats it got to do with fitting half decent tyres? You can be driving normally, at 60mph on an NSL road and find yourself in a position where you need to stop PDQ.

Cheap tyres are a risk to everyone on the road and there is no excuse for them - I'm not saying you should rush out right now and spend £900000000000000000000 on Continental SportContact 3's - there are numerous half decent tyres out there at sensible money from people like Toyo so that you don't need to be Super Carot Linglong FindDitch Pro Race Street's.

rant ? you where the one ranting and threatening to beat people :D

i assume these tyres hes talking about have passed safety tests etc so whats the problem ?

sure they wont stop as good as ones costing twice as much but they wont be far off. seems the ones hes on about even get decent reviews

you always go on about having to stop suddenly while hurtling along a motorway (usually in threads involving tyres or drum brakes on small cars) , if it happens so often maybe you should just slow down a bit instead of relying on your fantastic safety features and marvelous piece of rubber

I agree with Fox - those 4 patches of rubber are all that keep your car in contact with the road surface. Skimping on some real unknown is just asking for grief, whereas even a budget mainstream tyre is probably a better bet - if you can't stretch to more.

Hell, it might just save your, or someone else's, life.
