Fullscreen Video Issue WMP11

Hi, since i have reinstalled Vista i have had a serious problem with fullscreen playback of Video files in WMP11, whenever in fullscreen and the video doesnt fill the whole screen you would usually get these empty spaces filled in with black bars, but for me these bars are not as black as they can be, they seem to be grey and get lighter and darker depending on the lighting in the video.

anyone here have any clues as to why this is happening, in VLC media player it is perfectly fine.

I have that on my vista x64 too, its really annoying no idea why it is, its normal black on my xp

same hear for me on vista 32bit, i really notice when a black scene in a movie shows the picture darker than the boarder which annoys me rather a lot.
any way to make the boarder smaller asewll?

Use Windows Media Center instead for full screen playback.
