Fully Enabled GK110 Arrives

I can't see them release a Titan ultra, or II or whatever you want to call it. Wouldn't the performance in games be nearly the same as Titan?

For those of you who think you'll see a mainstream version of this card, don't be daft.

They will do if AMD when they finally get round to releasing whatever they have coming next takes the single card performance crown.

edit: your right not exactly mainstream though.

Realistically, I can't see them selling a full GK110 as a "Titan 2". I think Titan was originally due to having a load of GK110 chips that didn't meet the grade for the K20X and they wanted to do something with them.

I think what he means is that they won't be releasing a Titan II based on the Gk110. And AMD has nothing to do with it. A fully enabled GK110 will only be a few % faster in games, if it's faster at all. What would be the point?

Surely they don't need to release anything so soon, i mean....all your cards play everything @1440p MAXED OUT? Don't they? Super smooth framerates, constant 60fps and all that jazz?

Well sarcasm aside, Nvidia have the 780, so yeah arguably that's enough performance, but AMD could do with a high end card in that tier to match it.

The sooner AMD can compete in that tier, the sooner the prices can come down and that will be better for everyone. Especially the frugle like myself, as you so often point out. I was lucky and got my 780 much cheaper than RRP, but for those looking at current prices '£550', it is still overpriced.

We need AMD to be competitive to keep Nvidia's prices in check. Progress is good. As are price drops..

any quadro cards are professional gpus for completely different purposes then main stream/gaming gpus. quadros are uselles for gaming and titan etc are useless for what quadro does. and as it is the same GK110 it will not bring any technology leap at all.
