Hi all it's been a while since ive been on here.
Some scum back broke in the house and rob us. while to dog was at a mates and we was on holiday.
They took all the elec stuff and ransacked the place. had to borrow a laptop for a while to read the mounting emails.
So am looking to replace the pc that was stolen.
The insurance has come though and where starting to replace the items stole. luckly nothing else was taking apart from elec stuff.
I have a buget of around 2-3 grand can you spec me a hole new system ever thing needed based on the asus rampage III mobo and 5870 crossfire. they the two things ive just bought again.

Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything:

Hi Darkwhisper,
I cant really help with your new spec, but there are lots of people on here who can,and will go out of their way to help you out.
I REALLY hate thieves though, what part of Notts are you from?(email in trust if you like).
If you can post your original specs,i will keep an eye out for bits being sold, good to hear your insurance is sorting you out,but would be great to catch the scum.

That spec listed by Redmint is pretty much what I am running, bar the peripherals. It's top quality and nothing I can run is causing any kind of lag or slowness at all. The only thing I noticed is there is no graphics card. Personally I'm running a 5970 from Sapphire and loving it. It doesn't even break a sweat at the top end running everything at full whack (1920x1200).

Edit: *cough* Redmint you forgot a motherboard. I'd recommend the UD3R from Gigabyte personally.

ahh he already has a mobo and some 5870's i think. The above spec looks good to me, only suggestion would maybe be a 930 instead of a 920 if you have the cash, but its not essential. If it was me i'd drop a bit more on the sound system as well. I mean its good value but £50 for a 5.1 system doesnt scream quality :p

Ah, I missed that he had a mobo/graphics card. In that case, ignore me :)

And yes, beautiful build. But then I'm biased (see sig) ;)

Good point, guess it's silly to spend 60 on a sound card and 50 on speakers. :p

Thats Awful try and catch the buggers that done it must have been devastating when you walk in and see it all gone :( i feel for you

that sucks man... quick tip though - engrave your postcode on everything you can, that way the police are more likely to be able to identify your stolen goods. Also, check the bay, thieves love to sell stuff there.

An awesome budget, although I don't think you need to spend it all :D

There's also a G11 & Roccat Pyra.

Chose the 850W as it should leave plenty of headroom with Crossfired 5870's and an i7 920. I think with your given budget, it's daft not to have an SSD in there, although I could have went seriously wild and specced you a 3 grand system, I decided not too and went with the latter.

Hi everythings got the dye stuff on. After speaking to the police it looks like they had been keeping a eye on my place for some time. becuase i few weeks before they broke in they tryed to jimmy the back door open up BUT. and i wish i had seen there faces. as they was going at the door my dog would have heared them and looked out the window. as soon as he would have seen them he would have gone in protection mode. because there was scratch marks on the door and bite marks on the handle..
