I would like to thank the OcUK investigation team for this one....

With the links various people have provided I busted someone at work.

He came in bragging that he bought a mk4 Golf Gti, he has just modded it (R32 front bumper, side skirts new rear bumper, exhaust, R32 style alloys etc)....

I thought I would check the plates, it comes back saying that its a Golf mk4 1.4S.....

We confronted him about it and he started to tell everyone his car is still extremely quick and will outrun most peoples cars in the office (even though the stats prove he won't). His new story is that his local scrappy is going to transplant a 3.2v6 from an R32 into his car and it is going to cost him nothing etc etc.... Can't wait to see that one :p

Oh and he is also bragging he hasn't told his insurance company about any of the modifications he has done.... :o
 
The bloke's name isn't Adam by any chance is it? Someone who used to work here was full of such stories as "my dad is buying me an M3 for my 18th birthday".. strangely, when he turned 18 he was still driving his Saxo :confused: He was also apparently the son of the ambassador to Bermuda and was going to go work over there to earn £££££'s, yet he was still at our place as a gopher.. ;)

I apologise, the first sentence doesnt really confirm it.

I seemed to assume the OP had seen the car having checked the registration.

Think the general opinion is the blokes a bit of a moron for tarting up a 1.4. Next?

It will look good right up until the traffic lights GP. Where it shall be beaten by doris on her mobility scooter. :p

Always makes me laugh when I read the busted threads :) But how sad are the people who make up these posts and continue them..

The internet is a small world, as me and another OCUK'er were discussing the other day.

That's got nothing to do with it, he's a bit of a moron for feeling the need to fabricate lies about his car.
 
Why not suggest some Lexus style lights?
They look sh1te and from the feedback on here, are not totally reliable. So you'll have even more to laugh about.
