I graduated from Manchester Uni with a 2:1 in BSc (Hons) Information Systems Engineering, spent a year and a half working in IT, went travelling for a year and went back to work in IT, however I'm just sick of it now and want to re-train.

I've decided to go into Building Surveying (Great timing I know) after some work experience and have been accepted onto a course at Liverpool, however I doubt I have enough money yet for the whole course fees e.t.c Except for the Uni are there any other funding sources available for people going back into education?

Check this lot out. They're a charitable trust that funds engineering postgrad courses. Building surveying might be close enough a subject for you to have a go. I got 50% of my course fees paid for some of my early modules by them. I took a bit long over submitting a report to them though and they didn't give me any more money.

i have recently been considering going back to uni to study Computer Security and Forensics MSc. if i get accepted and go it wont be until sept 09 so have enough time to save the estimated £10k i need. when i previously looked in to it hsbc said they were willing to give me a loan that i wouldnt have to pay back until i graduated and got a job.
