Fungus in Washing machine

I would imagine putting a boil (95 deg) wash on with no clothes in would get rid of it. That's if it really is fungus...

Yea, i tried that, and it seems to be still there. Its the green stuff that you can see on the door seal (a lot of it) and i'm sure theres more inside where i cant see (but can smell it) ;(

go at the stuff with a spunge, in under the seal. And make sure you leave the door open after you finish washing so it dries out and doesnt grow up again.

Apparently this is a common problem on bosch washing machines, it builds up on the outside of the drum.

We have tried the hottest wash cycles and all sorts of chemicals to get rid of it, we spoke to a technician who said that bosh machines were known for it and the only way to properly get rid of it is to take the thing apart and scrape it off.

I normally do a boil wash with a good capful of bleach in the soap tray. Stinks the flat out but gets the machine sparkly inside.

I read a lot about this here...

The concensus really is to use a bio powder as the best option. Ignore all that guff about turning down to 30 degrees as well, that will destroy your machine in half the time.

I do a maintenance wash once a month on my machine, then make sure you do a rinse wash afterwards to clear it through.

I once wasted my money getting a repair man out and he told me the issue was detergent doesn't start to disolve properly til 38 degrees. If the 40 setting on your machine is set too low the detergent doesnt properly/fully disolve.

You can imagine what will happen if we all roll back to 30 degs.

Blast. Mine is a bosch. Grrrrr.....

I've tried scraping it off at the door seals already with some success. But i think the problem is around/in the drum as you say. Oh crap, calling a technician out will cost mucho moolah.... sigh...
