So I thought I would have a play with the resizable bar, so updated MSI Z590 tomahawk bios, then went to update RTX3090 bios. All seemed to work fine, reset pc and it loaded automatically into the bios, so i went to enable resizeable bar saved bios then reset.
Black screen........... Hmmmm
Tried again Black screen then a message " No Vbios found?"
Hmmmmm, back into bios looked at all setting etc looked good, still would not boot past bios?
At this point I am pretty angry. Wife chips in "should have kept your old pc it never went on the blink!"
Not helping with my mood.
Tried again, black screen with message. So took out graphics card and connected onboard VGA on motherboard and same message. Argh I thought what the hell is wrong?
Then when back into bios, Doh! Uefi boot selected? Weird I thought my setup is CSM from old pc.
Having a read through and it appears the resizeable bar is only compatible with a Uefi boot install.
Reset back to CSM boot and hey presto all is good again in the world.
Now having second thoughts formatting my system to install via Uefi to try this. Haha maybe in a few weeks time. You have got to laugh.

I had this exact thing on both my PCs - turns out there's a guide somewhere to converting CSM to UEFI via a command line tool. Ahh yes:

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-convert-mbr-disk-gpt-move-bios-uefi-windows-10

Legacy Bios Boot vs UEFI Mode Boot , CSM is Compatibility Support Module for any device's like GPU's other add in cards that are older and may not boot with UEFI without CSM enabled.

On a modern PC ( from 2012 at least) you should be on UEFI with CSM disabled and install on a GPT (not MBR) partitioned Boot Drive.

This will also boost your boot up speed.

I had the same problem, had to reinstall windows off a flash drive, set csm to disabled before I installed windows, now working fine!

Oh thank you for this, I had same thing on my x570 tomahawk and sapphire 6800xt nitro +. Had to pop out the motherboard battery and jump cap to recover boot. Now I know what's wrong.
