I recently tried to o/c my computer *sigh* and pushed it too hard and it didnt POST. When i reset cmos (using mobo 3 pin cmos clear) it booted - it passes POST, goes through displaying my cpu speed and RAM then detects my drives but makes a strange clicking noise while doing so. It never did it before the o/c and doesnt sound healthy at all. Although it boots into the operating system fine (and the drives work fine when put under stress) and if i remove the drives (1 optical and 2 hard) it doesnt make a noise on boot. It does however fail to enable the sleep mode in vista and turns the monitor off but but the computer keeps running.

Im thinking it must be something to do with my mobo but cant understand what it is...???

Anybody had this before or got any tips of how to fix it!? thanks

How much did you increase the voltage and OC?

I think it's coincidence.. Try reformating the HDD, see what happens.. It maybe that the data has been written to tte HDD buffer too quickly.. or that the HDD has packed up.

These things happen.. I had a scream coming from one of my fans.. took it out and tested it.. nothing wrong... but back in.. SCREAAMMMMM.. repeated process..left it for an hour or so.. then suddenlt stopped. Nothing since :D
