So I was clearing out a bunch of old receipts and shredding them. Amongst them, a receipt from OcUK for my graphics card. I was a little suprised to see it wasn't listed as a 6800GT, since that's what I'd bought.
It was at this point that I remembered a curious bug I'd found in the nV drivers. A while back, I posted in this thread about my card being incorrectly detected. Curiously, the card the drivers had detected was the same as the one on the receipt. I knew it wasn't what I'd bought, but it was a bit of a strange coincidence all the same.
So I finally dug out the box, and lo and behold, a 7800GT. So anyway, I've been posting here asking how the 6800GT compares to other cards, would this be a good upgrade, etc, etc, and all the time I didn't really have that card at all. How on Earth did I manage to order, install and set up the card all the time thinking it was something else? Man, that's daft!
I guess in the end I should be grateful I've got a better card than I thought
