Furmark not running properly with Cat 9.10 - any fix?

I was using 9.1, getting 5809 o3Marks with my 4870 at default settings.

Updated my drivers (finally!) to 9.10, now getting 3334 o3Marks with my 4870 at default settings. min, max and average FPS have reduced by about the same proportion, unsurprisingly.

As far as I know, ATI now deliberately cripples performance in Furmark because it works the card so hard.

I'd like to be able to test like for like, because (silly me) I didn't do any other benchies recently with 9.1 and I don't recall any results from when I did them months ago.

I tried renaming furmark.exe, as per instructions for earlier driver versions, but that didn't work.
 
I now get slightly higher marks with 9.10, windows 7 and furmark than I did in XP. I don't know if it's the cat drivers, DX11 or windows that is doing that. Conversely, I got a lower score in 3D Mark 06 than I did in XP. They're all a load of crap anyway these benchmark apps.
