Does not affect me with ati drivers 6.12 and below......

However with 7.1 - 7.2 drivers there is a problem with my card and fan control related to the drivers or ati tray tools and the drivers. I noticed this a few months ago i was getting crashing , triangles and freeze ups relating to heat. So i checked ati tray tools and sure enough it was running hot but the fan speed was at 500rpm!. I dragged the fan speed bar too 100% and the rpm is now 0 again i did the bar and again it dropped back to 0rpm.

I tried a later version of ati tray tools beta and it did the same thing, so i decided to go back to 6.12 no problem for ages... 7.2 drivers came out and within a few days i noticed the crashing and triangles e.t.c reppearing. I went into the ati tray tools my fan was at 100RPM again moving the slide bar it dropped to 0.

Loaded my standard profile which was already set to 100% fan speed and it increased the fan speed to 500rpm and no higher. I kept doing this testing and retesting and it was working again 100% full rpm fan speed, but today i applied my profile as usual fan speed 0!

Fan speed at 0 after loading 100% profile

Fan speed at 0 after moving slide bar to 100% , it resets the slide bar back to 0

This time i double clicked the slide bar [] thing , and hit apply and it shot upto 100% full fan speed

This is with an accelero x2 cooler and only a problem as i said with 7.1 - 7.2 , ive also noticed a minority of people having the same problem on rage3d.

EDIT : It seems from further testing that dragging the slide bar far to the right doesn't always work with these drivers and after loading my 100% fan speed profile. Instead i now have to double click the [] on the slide bar and hit apply... This for some reason pushs it upto 100% fan speed!
