Fury VS rx 480

I've been using more than 4GB VRAM for many months.

Just think about it, why would NVIDIA include 8GB on the 1070, or 1080, if 4GB was sufficient? Why would AMD include an 8GB option on the 480, if 4GB was sufficient? Games can and do use more than 4GB already.

Why would NVIDIA include 4gb on a 730?

I reckon 4GB is fine for the next year or two at 1080p. The problem is the Fury is at its weakest in this resolution.

4GB HBM is not the same as 4GB GDDR5 is more like 6GB+ of GDDR5, and GCN 1.2 is using memory texture compression saving a lot of VRAM there.

If you look around you will see the same test where GTX980Ti is using 2.5-3GB the Fury needs 1.5-2GB.

Edit, found one of the tests....
See how the Fury X is working with 1.3-1.5GB VRAM and all the NV cards need a minimum 2.5GB

@OP buy the Fury, is far better card for the money, and overclock it. (especially if you watercool it).

The Fury is 50% more expensive than the similar RX480 (the 4GB Nitro). It's about 30% faster from what i've seen.

So it's really upto you if that's worth it. But at the current new card price points, the Fury and RX 480 Nitros are very hard to beat.

FURYYYYYYYYY... I just dropped my xfire 290's for a single Fury (x) and don't regret it one bit. Your fury can actually OC so it would be close to an X.

DO IT!
