Hi Have had my Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 FURY X HBM Graphics Card (4 GB since July last year, bought from the jungle at that time, two days ago my PC crashed shut down whilst gaming "Ark".

Powered the mains switch back up PC booting showed no display on monitor screen at all. ok did the switch off then TRIED to power PC back on, soon as I hit the power button gpu motherboard etc lit up for a second, no boot up at all.

ok have a 7970 plugged that in pc booted etc. went into windows 10 played ark for quiet a few hours after that.

today thought I would try pc downstairs with the gpu nothing no boot at all same as above.

and wait for it.... went and took it to the pc its always being in plugged it all in switched on the power supply switch on the back motherboards lights up etc then pressed the power button everythings flicks on for a second are so , Now there is smoke coming from were the leds are then hastily powering the switch off !!

what guys you's think ? PS "never did any overclocks mods etc on this gpu"

spoke to the jungle and have asked for the EU refund etc there sending me a email regarding this.

nothing you can do apart from contact the re seller or the manufacturer to get it repaired\refunded.

card has died so get a new one or get it repaired depending if you get the refund of course

update contacted the Jungle today told was getting a email back from them, received and told only years warranty with them, and was given the saphires links to open a ticket on there website, the pc is now running a 7970 gpu atm.

I would mention the 2 year minimum warranty in the EU and also the sale of goods act. Both probably apply here, hardly reasonable to expect a £500 GPU to last 13 months

thats not right because it's not adopted into uk law. they can still legally pull the sales of goods act and you'll look like a pratt if they know what they are talking about

technically you've had the gpu for 13 months they can turn round and ask you to prove the gpu is at fault which would be extremely difficult

Update

Just got this back from the sapphire ticket system;

Dear Customer :
Sorry that this SN carries no manufacturer's warranty due to Amazon originally purchased with a discount from us and they said they will directly taken care of the warranty for their customer.
Please contact Amazon directly and check of their warranty policy.
Thanks.

now this GPU carries 2 years with Sapphire so have warrenty off 11 months remaining.

Sapphire was clear on their email. Contact Amazon since they are responsible.
I do not see the problem.

This means amazon was shipping stock that they got on the discount, the discount probably being that the understanding was that amazon would handle the warranty. Now of course amazon are claming its nothing to do with them, and sapphire are saying that serial number is from non warranty stock that amazon has to handle. Was the card sold and advertised with a 2 year warranty? if yes then you can argue that amazon are breaking the law by selling an item that is clearly not as described ( warranty is not as advertised ).

Go back to amazon with this info and see what happens. If they refuse to budge post a recorded delivery letter stating the facts and that if you do not get a satisfactory response in 14days you will have no option but to get trading standards involved. I had similar years ago with an asus card, the retailer went bust and asus would not honor the 3 year warranty. In the end i got TS involved and got a full refund :p

You have nothing to worry about, where you bought it from will give you a full refund.

Here is what happens if you need to do an RMA with that company.

  1. Click on "Help" then "Need More Help?" Click on "Contact Us". Select an issue: "Other order issues." Select issue details: "Something else."
  2. You then have the option of E-mail / Phone / Chat
  3. They give you instructions on how to send back the old one.
  4. If they no longer stock it, they will give you a full refund regardless of how much warranty is left! It doesn't matter who the manufacturer is.
How good is that? This is how all retailers should be for RMA, no farting about waiting weeks, or a month+ for an RMA to be sorted out.

well had a long conversation with amazon on the phone explaining I had phoned them previously about this which they then sent me a ticket link to sapphire etc.

I have now got DPD popping by on the Wednesday to pick the item up will be printing label for box etc

Have to send them the conversation I have via Saphire's ticket system which is;

etc

Glad they finally decided to honor their part and supply you with a shipping label RMA.

I'm actually surprised they even tried to refuse you at first. A friend in Denmark recently had issues with her Sapphire 380X and Amazon sent her a label the same day, and even shipped a new replacement card the same time.

Surprising they refused you at first.

My phone broke last week, spoke to them they issued me an RMA within 2 mins, no questions asked (They didn't have the stock to replace it for me) I posted 2 days later as I had to wait for a friend to print the RMA stuff for me at work. 20mins after posting it I had an email saying i've been refunded.

Well they collected it today nicely packaged up, label on etc.
just waiting for refund.

They are great for RMA had a tablet go faulty after 6 months they sent me a new one and told me to put the old one in the box!!! The new one arrived and i had a problem with it charging within a week i sent it back and got a full refund in under a week...my daughter was over the moon as she got a ultrabook upgrade.
