Fury X vs 980 Ti Longevity

The recent AMD driver brought big performance gains for the 290/390 series of cards however the Fury X stayed the same.

If you can't say which last longer that's fine really, its a difficult question. Personally I cannot wait for a die shrink and so this is a topic not about waiting but about buying the highest end card now. There is always the option for selling the cards though, and that is also where value comes into play.
 
That'll be because they held any optimisations for 290X/390X back to make Fury look better, I mean they didn't release a driver for months prior to their new cards launching.
