To save keep putting these into the Fury owners thread, I thought it best to put them in their own thread, as there will be lots of them. Hopefully it will help people decide what to buy and they can see exactly what performance to expect should they buy either.

GTA V TitanX Vs Fury X

Dirt Rally

Project Cars

Batman Arkham Knight

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Assassin's Creed: Unity

Battlefield 4

Crysis 3

Hitman Absolution

Tomb Raider

Grid Autosport

The Witcher 3

Alien Isolation

I will add all of them that I have done in a bit :)

Also, here is a couple of other vids that I did.

Titan X Vs Fury X with maximum stable overclocks

AMD Driver comparison 15.15 Vs 15.20

Gsync disabled? Surely needs to be an apples to apples comparison.

G-Sync is disabled (not that it records what G-Sync shows) but everything is apples to apples. All settings are the exact same (albeit you can't tell from my split screen), I have "prefer max quality" set in the Nvidia control Panel.

Slightly hard to compare properly because the guy starts walking a bit later in the FuryX so side by side is not aligned. Otherwise these comparisons are nice. Also can you change the MSI AB OSD color to something brighter like yellow or bright purple, will be easier to see.

Damn it!!! I was hoping nobody would mention the AB overlay being small :D It is something I will be setting for the next set of vids :D

So after playing with lots of different recording software, DXtory is the way forward. Great quality with very minimal performance hit and lets me play at 1440P and record at 10080P and records AB overlay.

All vids from now on will be recorded with DXtory for both AMD and Nvidia to keep it fair.

Which Windows OS?
Which AMD drivers?
Any DLL files in pCARS root folder (1040 advised)?
Any launch commands in Steam?
What was your CPU usage during this recording?

15.15 AMD drivers -350.38 nvidia drivers
WIN 8.1 Pro
No dll or mods of any kind
No idea.

Yet theres there's loads of people on that very thread showing otherwise, who haven't touched anything in NVCP. On my 980ti ultra looks like ultra and there's no issue with anisotropic filtering. All NVCP settings are completely default.

How is this case?

I am betting it is something my end. others are clearly not having the same problem, so deffo points at user issues.

yet again nice work gregg, but all these posts have me wanting to buy a fury x, not for the performance but theres something so damb intresting about it i just want to play about with one

Cheers bud and they are good cards.

I have just done a Batman comparison at 1440P and the results are very surprising. Just encoding it and will upload it straight away.

AMD shenanigans? :D:p

DXTory is a fantastic program for recording and great quality but needs to record to a SSD as the files are huge.

Edit:

Just paid close attention and the water is deffo 10x better on the TX - Something is deffo up with the water quality on AMD (watch from 1:32 and look at the water).

Right, switched back to the Avermedia Cap card, as the files are just too damned big with DXtory and it bugged out so much it was really winding me up. A shame, as the quality was better with DXtory and the performance hit wasn't bad + I could record 1440P at 60fps but such a ballache to get going and kept crashing out in games as well as crashing Sony Vegas :(

Anyways, 3 more coming up this evening. Shadow of Mordor - Alien Isolation and The Witcher 3. All recorded with the capture card :)

Guys guys guys, don't get so hooked onto the colour settings please. The image looks just as good when playing on each other but for some reason, the recording has the colours much brighter (too bright) on the TX. I did these in a batch and didn't fancy doing them all again so just went with it.

I have done so much exhaustive testing to try and show everyone what each game and GPU performs at, it is a lot of work. But it is a passion that I enjoy doing but seeing people clutching at colour settings and ignoring the purpose of why I was doing this makes me sad.

Don't be put off bud, it's fantastic work you've done ;)

Now tell me the settings you used in Witcher 3! lol.

Everything maxed at 1080P bud, including Hairworks. Performance was good as well but not exactly stutter free on either setup.

used both amd and nvidia recently and did not notice much difference, if i was nit picking i would say the nvidia was slightly better in dark indoor areas and amd was slightly better in bright outdoor areas, but nothing in it to get wound up about

This is exactly how I see it as well. I tend to drop the brightness quite a chunk on Nvidia but not so much on AMD.

So Gregster if you could only keep one card, which would it be?
Do you actually notice much difference if you play one after the other?

I would keep the Nvidia card. I am a big fan of recording/doing reviews and ShadowPlay is fantastic. Not the best image quality but such a low performance hit and records any and everything including 60fps 2160P if desired. That doesn't detract from the Fury X being a great card mind and if I had no wish to record (or if I could record properly with a capture card how I want it to), then I would have a serious debate with myself.

As for recording and showing comparisons, to those that like them and like seeing them, thanks for the support but to those that don't, apologies but I have no intention of stopping doing them and I will get better, I just need to sus everything out.

If anyone knows how to duplicate a display and set the RGB or whatever it is called up, I would appreciate some help/info but as it stands, the capture card is the monitor and I can't actually see what is what.

I have found out the problem :D

The secondary monitor shows up as "Generic PnP" but looking through the NCP, I couldn't see a way to change it at all but using the default windows settings, I have it set to use the Asus ROG Swift monitors colour settings instead of the Generic settings. Both now look the same.

So fingers crossed it will all be good from here on out with comparisons.

Look exactly the same now :)

Nvidia cheating - debunked! :p

Great work with the vids Gregster. Titan X is a beast !

Lol, I am glad in a way that people brought it up, as I wasn't happy with it but glad it is now sorted. Something as simple as switching the default secondary monitor to the Asus lol :D

Anyways, I will go through those again and delete the crappy coloured ones.

Not to mention not one of them picked up on Arkham Knight where the water fidelity difference is clearly visibly worse on the Fury X.

Yer, I have slowed it down from 1:32 to 0.25 speed and the Sea looks flat and nothing like the TXs Sea.... Weird.

Good thread!

dxtory is a decent capturing app but the built in codecs suck. Download Lagarith Lossless Video Codec and use that with dxtory. In the settings I think you need to change the output to YUV (the one at the very bottom of the popdown list). You will get great quality videos at decent filesizes

Theres a video on youtube on how to do this but I cant link to it as im at work and youtube is blocked

Thanks :)

I liked using DXtory but it wouldn't work in The Witcher 3 for some reason and it gave uneven performance hits on the GPUs depending on the game. Great quality though. I did use the Lagarith codec as well. Batman was recorded with it and the quality was impressive. The true and completely neutral way is using a dedicated capture card but it is a real shame it only does 30 fps @ 1080P. I have a 4K one as well but even that still only does 30 fps and was a chore to use.
