Fuse box

Woke up this morning put the light on downstairs then there was a spark and a little bang from the fuse box and all the downstairs lights go off. But all other electrics were fine.
Normally when the fuse box goes i just flick the switch back, but the spark and bang made me a bit weary what should i do?

don't have wet hands and stand in a puddle of water when you flick the switch back?

normally i just flick it back, but it was the spark this time that put me off doing it

Turn off anything that was on (on that particular circuit e.g. lights, if the outs are out), and flip it back.
