Are you talking about the fuse in the plug for the PSU here? A spike in power could/should cause the fuse to blow and 'sacrifice' itself since it is the cheapest and easiest component to replace. You should look to see what the fuse is currently and replace like for like, I can't remember offhand what that would be but I suspect it would be 13A.
Best thing to do is post up your make/model and see if someone else has the same PSU. They might be able to have a look for you. Its normally etched/stamped into the metal ends of the fuse and not on the glass.
