fuse on mother board

sony vaio laptop, just fitted a new screen , you can see the image but its dim, as if the backlight isnt on. its an lcd panel with led backlight,
the screen took a bad knock and im wandering if the invertor has a fuse to protect the mother board.
any suggestions

if the inverter is plugger in and not working its time fore a new one i would say.

It's only 8months old, but because it was accidentally damaged I can't take it back under warranty
