hi folks

need some help , i have this card ( i am posting in this section because i think its card related )

Sapphire Radeon RX VEGA 56 Pulse 8GB HBM2 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11276-02-40G)

in radion settings ,
global settings , global wattman...... here you can set the power level , when its set to power save , i can play any game and the fuse in the plug doesnt blow , but when i set to balaced or above the fuse blows when gaming.... any ideas ?

i have changed the power supply to the computor and still the same

any ideas on where to start on this ? , cheers

i have yeah , used to have in the living room , its now it the spare room up stairs ...

its allways on an extension cable , maybe i could try i better rated one ?

yeah its the kettle lead one , when you say how many is it rated firestarter , do you mean what amp fuse goes in the lettle lead ?

A PC and monitor both normally are 5amp fuses in their kettle leads, I think the new high watt Corsairs with a different type of lead are possibly 13amp (I have a AX1600I).

If the fuse in the extension lead is going then plug less into it, even if you have a 6-way extension they can only handle so many amps of load before the fuse will go. I'd plug your computer directly into the wall if you can, if it still happens I'd look to a fault with the power supply.

Is it the fuse in the kettle lead or the extension which is blowing? Have you tried a different kettle lead/extension lead?

Eh? For all the years I have used the kettle leads only monitors use the 5amp fuse with PSU coming with 13amp.

It sounds like the extension is your issue, but I would go with @mmj_uk and plug directly to the wall socket then game your nuts off to test it isnt the computer (ofc it could be the kettle lead your computer is using so swap this out too).

Yeah your right @b00merang69 I done some calculations last night and you would only need a 5amp till really meaty PSU, something new I learned!

It must be the US voltage that pushes the amps higher. So in US a 750w would need next size up as 5amp wouldnt cut it.

Should not be putting anything higher than 5amp rated in a PSU power supply. If the fuse is blowing on the PSU plug, then the problem is the PSU. It's drawing too much power and blowing the fuse. It probably needs replacing.

That is why the info I posted above says "5A on UK Mains Plug - 10A IEC Socket" which is C13.

The Corsair 1600watt uses a higher rated C19 to BS1363 UK Power Cord.

Change the kettle lead

Yup change the lead and see if it still does it. Especially as you have already changed the socket its plugged into and the PSU in the computer. Try using that lead on your kettle to see if it blows then.
