Future build pricing

Hey Guys,

Im going to be making a build in the new year (jan/feb), I know SB will be out in jan. im trying to price some of the other components at the moment as it is unlikely the rest of the build would change. Im aiming in the ballpark of £600/£650 (delivered), for the time being I will include the i5 760 as a cost filler (SB will be around £30 more ?).

This is really a research post and future planning thread to help with my understanding of what I will be looking at when I go ahead and buy my build.

Need: Full tower build

Dont Need: OS

I dont know a thing about AMD GPUs so if theres a suggestion for an AMD card im interested in hearing the pro/cons of it.

Remember that a build after 4th Jan will have the VAT rise. I know it is only £2.50 extra per 100quid (Ex VAT) but when spending hundreds it will add a bit.

Thats absolutely fine, if you wanted SLI? then a different motherboard is needed.

you could buy most of it now, then see what sandy bridge brings in january?

Remember that a build after 4th Jan will have the VAT rise. I know it is only £2.50 extra per 100quid (Ex VAT) but when spending hundreds it will add a bit.

For the moment its cool to work with the VAT @ 17.5, im not concerned about the extra few quid because of VAT.

Unfortunately due to xmas I won't have the money for the bulk of it until January pay day.

SLI has never really been of much interest to me, it seems the gains are easily outdone with just getting a single better card. I could be wrong, SLI isnt something ive looked too much at.
