SVG. It's not a new format, but support isn't wide yet i.e. lacking in IE. Though I've certainly seen more use in recent times as Firefox and Opera support it natively. Good for graph generation and all the other great benefits vector formats bring.
In the comparison pic there, "standard" JPEG looks FAR better to me. Look at the left-side of the dogs bowl, the leaves in the top left corner etc etc........

To me too... weird, I've played with JPEG2000 before and always found it to be superior to JPEG/JFIF at the same file size, maybe they encoded it badly. I'll have to have a play myself before JPEG2000's reputation is permanently tarnished in my mind.
