Not sure if it is in the right forum...if not sorry.

This is an e-mail I reveived for an assessment day I will be attending, they have asked each of us to do some research before hand.

Delegate Preparation

Prior to the assessment event you will need to carry out some research based on the following question:

Who will be the successes and the failures in the high street in the next 5-years?
Why?

Please take the following into consideration:

Who – what retailers has your research identified?
Why -
Successes, what sets them apart?
Failures, what caused them to fail?

On the day you will be working in a small group and will discuss how to pull the research you have done on an individual basis together to create 1 presentation.

If you wish a flipchart may be used to support your presentation. You will make your presentation to other delegates and an assessor.

During all presentations / exercises you will be assessed on:

How well you are able to communicate your ideas, views and opinions.

The persuasiveness of your presentation e.g. what information do you have to support your conclusion and ideas.

The organisation of your presentation. Is it logical and structured?

The extent, to which you appear to have understood the problem that you have been set, i.e. have you answered the question in full
.

I only have one week to prepare so I thought of asking for ideas or comments from here.

I have my own ideas, I am not asking for it to be done, so no comments like that please.

Thanks for any help in advance.

MY IDEAS

The introduction of Sunday trading puts smaller retailers with limited staff at a disadvantage against larger retail outlets.

Purchasing power of large orgs is well-known, but the fact that they also have their own supply chains can also adversely affect the competitiveness of smaller retailers and also of independent suppliers.

The choice of retail outlets have decreased but the convenience to the shopper, range of choice and price of product value have risen.

If the consumer abandons community shops in favour of the convenience of the larger retail outlets, how will this affect long-term consumer choice.

If local shops are to survive, the local community will have to support them.

At the moment many of us are relying on our neighbour to keep the local shop in business.

Love to see the look on your face when they ask you to explain the reasoning behind your answers :D

'Well I asked some guys on the interent to do my preperation..' :p

I do not intend to spurt out anything without proof. Some guys on the internet is still research.

Why doesn't OcUK create a "Do my homework for me" forum?

What is wrong with people asking for some help, is that such a problem, if I went to my lecturer and asked him/her the same question as I have asked here would they also reply do your own work...or if I went to the careers office.....NO they would not.

If you have this sort of attitude then please do not post on this thread just ignore it. I really get sick and tired of stupid comments like this...ok it may be a joke but it has happened so many times on these forums. All I ask is for help/advice...exactly the same as I would from friends.
