Future prices

The problem is, and may always will be, that consumers are willing to accept the new norm. Under capitalism nothing changes unless you stop buying whatever product is raising in price. Given there are Whale, Pro and miner customers who accept the new prices, the cards will continue to sell at those higher prices. Ultimately it doesn't matter who is at fault for the price of GPU's rising as it's likely everyone (to some extent) that is cashing in, and everyone also feels that it is not their responsibility as they all will be feeling some pressure from their own suppliers.

It takes both a supplier who is able to supply and consumers who are only willing to consume under certain situations to correct prices.
At the moment we have neither.

Instead of worrying about availability or prices of GPUs to upgrade my aged heavily overclocked 290 I just went Series X route and I'm so pleased I did

looks like a free for all in prices rises, once one does, they all tend to follow, they making their cash while its mining boom time, msrp are now a complete joke in the pc sector. but business is business they will all say lol

I the future, I don't think there will be any MSRP, I think manufacturers will just make up a price and see if anyone buys it. It they do (which they will especially in the GPU market), they will increase the price accordingly...then others will follow suit and so it will continue!

end of the day they can set prices at whatever they want, as long as they sell they dont care. hopefully things will come back down eventually but when that will be could be anyones guess.

make hay while the sun rises, the sun is shinning brightly so as a business its see how much you can fleece from a customer before they complain, given as miners will pay whatever, they just filling their boots, when the bubble burts they will return to normality, they know ppl will always want a gpu, so dont give a toss what ppl think of them either
