"Future proof" ram - suggestions

I am looking at updating from 1gb to 2gb ram. Right now I have 1 gb of Corsair TwinX 3200LL pro, running on an Asus P4C800E-Deluxe with a Northwood P4 chip.

The memory I need should be able to work with this combination, but also with a purchase in near future on some socket 939 mobo and an AMD X2 chip.

Overclocking is not THAT important, but I would prefer the ram to run fast and stable.

Any suggestions?

You are probably best off getting a 2 gig DDR set and replacing those 3200LLs rather than trying to add to them. I am not sure how it works with Intel, but with AMD you will almost certainly need 2x1 gig rather than 4x512mb to be able to run at optimum levels. You'll also have a better chance of overclock a 2x1 rather than 4x512.

Sorry for not being clear enough :)

I will remove the old pair and buy a new 2x1gb pair, just not sure what pair is best to get, when I will start using 'em in the p4 rig and later on when I move to the amd rig.

For future proofing, wait for M2. Then we'll all need DDR2 anyway.

Yeah I know but "my" future is not that far away, and I am pretty sure a X2 will be good for me.

So any good suggestions with that in mind?

Heard very good things about the G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x1GB) CAS2 Dual Channel Kit from Ocuk. Excellent value. Im gettin some as soon as I have the moolah.

I've just bought some myself, was recommended by a few people.
