I know, I know. not a phrase that is very relevant to pcs but, for someone about to do a new build what, at this moment in time, is it worth holding out for. I know what is on the horizon, PCIe 2 boards, penryn chips and the NV G9* cards but what do I need to wait for to make sure what ever I put in it can be upgraded when the next gen stuff comes out.
My initial thoughts are to wait for the new motherboards that support PCIe2 because then it will be backwards compatible with the g80's but will support the g90's when released. Will it also support the current quads along with Penryn (and Nehalem) when released.
Thinking out loud. Feel free to think out loud with me
