Heya guys, I finally finished my set up last night, Only sat up till 1:30am :(

My mobo has 3 slots, Now... Am sure they'll release 8GB 980s at somepoint but for now am running 2x 980s at 4GB.

What I wanna do is, When they do take the 8GBs out, Is it just a case of switching both cards down a slot and pushing in the 8GB card as my primary display card. Would that enable me to slap 4K in the face with a SLI set up? Or is it more complex where you need to SLI 8GB cards? D: Do not want.

All cards need the same amount of vram. Run 8GB and 4GB and it'll only be able to use 4GB.
You can't run tri sli in that board anyway, as the third slot is x4.

It relates to your question on whether you can SLI (trisli i presume?) 980s with mismatch VRAM (i believe you can) only it will force the 8gb to act as a 4GB card, so, nope.

Well, Guess I'll stick to 4GB cards and never touch 4k :P

Then again there are a few 1440p displays that are quite nice.

ROG Swift?

You have nVidia, so why not make the most of it and have ultra smooth gameplay. Fantastic monitor, even if it is a little pricey.

Woah that price tag, But will SLI 980s run at 144hz no problem? :P

I generally run 2 of my 3 Titans for gaming and I have no problems with any games. In fact, you can be running at 45 fps on a single card and it would feel like loads more frames. Swift FTW!!!

The lie we tell ourselves when we spend too much on PC upgrades :p

Also IMHO I wouldn't bother with 4k still. Even top end cards in SLI aren't going to do max detail, at 60fps. Why trade off detail for resolution? As long as you're over 1080p it's going to look pretty darn good. Also current 4k panels are still in their infancy and no G-Sync and 120hz/144hz panels exist yet. You're stuck with 60hz and G-Sync only.

Also, your PC looks awesome :d
