Future Upgrade from GTX 670 SLI

What is on the horizon? What can I look forward to as a single card upgrade to my 670 SLI preferably able to handle at least a 32" monitor and possibly 4K?

Won't Maxwell be out in the next calendar year? So a GTX 980 Ti if the current naming convention is anything to go by. Rumoured to feature 8GB VRAM but still not able to power 4K on it's own?

Looking to go single card and I have dropped the 4K upgrade until a couple of years down the line. So going with a 32" sometime next year once I see what has become available.

I went from 670 SLI to single 970. It was a worthwhile step for the Vram but it's going to have to be SLI if I'm to see a proper performance boost.

Good luck with that. You will probably have to wait till 2016/2017

A single 780 Ti is adequate for 4K, but you won't get good performance at ultra quality. Drop AA and you can run modern games at a mixture of medium and high.

You would need two 780Ti's just to break 30fps on "HIGH" settings at 4k.

..and there will be more demanding games than Assassins Creed Unity coming out next year that is for sure.

I'll bet the reviewer left AA enabled.

I have a 4K display and a 780 Ti and I can play older games like Borderlands 2 and Darkstar One on max settings. I can play Tomb Raider on medium-high (mostly high) settings without AA.
