Fx 6100

Is the fx 6100 a decent choice of cpu in a budget gaming rig. Not looking to go the Intel route seeing as it will be in a weans room or would I be better with the a10 5800k. I will be using my old 6870 for the gpu

If your going for the FX-6 core you should go for the AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 3.50GHz Its better...

The 6870 is faster than the GPU on the A-10 5800K

Another vote for the FX 6300. I used one of these in a build for the first time this week and it's a seriously impressive chip for the price.
