A few questions :)

For the FX-6200 3.8GHz not overclocked what temp range am i looking at having??

Currently:
35 to 38 idle
60 to 64 Prime95

using speedfan to measure temps, mobo shows similar results for idle

Ambient temp shows between 33 to 38. my room temperature I would estimate to be around 18c.
CPU temp can shoot up massively from 35 to 42 with only a slight load (10%) for a few seconds.

Do i need to look at putting some arctic 5 on the heatsink instead of the stock stuff??

I want to get it up to 4.2 to 4.5ghz, would i need a new heat sink?? if so can you please spec me one for under £30 :)

Currently have 3 case fans like this marked with 'x'

________________
x........X .............|
|........................|
|........................X
|_PSU __________|

rear one is sucking out, side and front are blowing in.

Have a possible 6 slots for fans - 2 front, one bottom, 2 side and one rear
like so:

________________
x........X .............|
|........X..............|
|.....................X.X
|_PSU ___X______|

one of the front ones is offset back a few cm behind the very front one.

I want to know if the setup for my fans are fine how they are, or if there is a better way to have them?

Thanks

Matt :)

Thought i might, it does stick out quite a way :)

Is the fan setup fine for my rig and are the temps suitable. not sure if i can trust my temps, 18 - 22c in room, 32c to 38c ambient. only had a laptop before so don't know a lot about ambient temps :P

Hmm download hwmonitor and use that rather than speedfan IMO

64 sounds a bit hot, IIRC you don't wana go over that. The new cooler should sort those temps out nicely.

Just read up about overclocking the FX chips before you do :D

sorry, i haven't re seated the cooler. I was saying that maybe I haven't put the cooler on very well as my temps are high in speedfan and hwmonitor
