FX 8350 Overclocking Help

Hey, so today i overclocked my CPU for the first time. I put it up to 4.4ghz on the stock voltage stable, so i just left it there. However, when i go into CPU ID it jumps between 4.5ghz and 1.5ghz. So i was just wondering what is happening as i never put it at 4.5ghz.

i followed this video while overclocking:

Specs

mobo: Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0
GPU: R9 280x
CPU: FX 8350
PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750w
HDD: WD 1TB
Case: NZXT Switch 810
RAM: crucial tactical tracer 2x4gb, 1600
Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

You need to disable Turbo, and, Cool and quiet. These will change your clock speed dynamically.

If your rig is stable at your clocks and does not throttle or down clock then leave it, it will save you some juice at the wall.

I have cool and quiet as "disabled by CPU" and ill check about turbo. Like i said it jumps between 1.5ghz and 4.5 so idk

Turbo core is disabled, i restarted my computer and now its reading it as 4.4

Help With Overclocking FX8350

Hey, so today i overclocked my CPU for the first time. I put it up to 4.4ghz on the stock voltage (stable). So my question is when i change the the "CPU Bus frequency" my "CPU/NB frequency" and "HT Link" values change. So i have to change these values closer to the defaults or just leave them?

TBH you can just leave the bus frequency alone and just up the CPU multiplier. You do get _slightly_ more performance from increasing the bus rather than multiplier but, as you've seen, it starts to overclock other things as well.

Turbo-Core off, Cool n Quiet on should be fine as long as your OC is stable, the speed will drop off when there's no demand (ie, idle, web browsing etc) and will then ramp up to full speed when needed.
