FX 8350 temps

Agreed with the above. One thing though I will vouch for is the extra 200mhz on these chips isnt worth the extra heat. Benching is one thing but for stability and overall performance it isnt worth pushing

Yes, it is amazing on these CPUs how just a small amount of extra voltage pushes temperatures up. You clearly need exceptional cooling to be able to push these chips. My Gelid Tranquillo is decent, but insufficient for getting the limit out of the CPU. Fortunately I don't need to do that, 4.4 is enough.

I'm liking the saved profiles in the BIOS. I have one saved profile for stock, which I'll probably run most of the time, and then I'll have another for the overclock when I need the extra.

I can, like you mentioned use a couple of profiles and get 4.6Ghz rock solid. One profile has high FSB low multi, and another the opposite yielding similar performance.

This summer the room could hit 33 degrees as it cant block out the sun effectively so I set back to stock. All I have been doing lately is office work so no need for the overclock to open Excel files whilst streaming videos.. :D

Another good stress test program is ASUS Realbench 2.2. Takes the CPU temps to within 2-3 degrees of Prime95 small FFT, seems to be more comprehensive, and is checking the CPU results because you do get a number of "Result Hash Match" messages along the way.

Yeah I think there is a post on this to share your scores knocking about. To be fair the FX does ok against some of the i5's, not too shabby only being comfortably beaten by the i7's!
