Hello,

I have a FX4300 3.8Ghz CPU
gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 6.0 motherboard
8GB Gskull 1600 ram
Artic freezer 13 CPU cooler

I have had a look around on the internet and found some settings that a lad is running with same setup and all he did to OC was changed the CPU frequency?

I have changed this from 200 - 221 which put it from 3800 to 4190 ?

Can it be done this way or does i need to change something else as well?

Any help would be appreciated it's first time attempting this

Regards

Yes, if the frequency is stable at that voltage then it is that simple. However you need to keep an eye on the temperature of the CPU and the motherboard VRMs. Your board does have a VRM heatsink, so it's better than some.

so does this mean it's overclocked now? and what is the best programme to keep an eye on this?

Also is it possible to unlock to 4core or is it locked to 2core?

its already got 4 cores and no fx chips can't be unlocked like the older athlon and phenoms. use a temp monitoring program liie core temp or hwmonitor to monitor the cpu temp, however these can read wrong sometimes.

Ok thanks very much! im unsure what im reading on there though? any help on which i should be looking at?

Regards
