FX516PR bottleneck?

Yeah thats not an ideal CPU. Are you particularly looking for a thin solution?

The Legion 5 Pro 16 can be had for similar money but is bulkier. Upside is a far better CPU and the higher TDP 3070 version.
Yeah I saw that but it’s sold out, I think it works out about £200 more expensive

You can get 10% off with the newsletter discount and configure the spec to save a bit too. Dropping one of the two nvme drives cuts £130 off the price.

It was in stock at the start of the week so shouldn't be unavailable for long.

Regardless of that though I wouldn't want a 4c8t CPU at that price. That will bottle neck in current games let alone future titles.

Thanks that’s really cool!

I love the Lenovo laptops too with the rear ports :D and I heard they have good cooling!

I don't think the CPU will bottleneck. The GPU is only 85 Watts.

Depends what resolution you're hoping to game, but I wouldn't be going for such a low wattage GPU, unless you want one or more of the following:

1) a cheap(ish) option.
2) a low power / better-battery option.
3) a low(er) noise option (due to the low power GPU).
4) Possibly ETH mining, since that's more about memory clocks than GPU.

When I buy laptops for gaming, I basically look for the most GPU performance for my money.

If you can wait, that's the Legion 5 Pro.

If you can't, I'd go for the GE66 (full power mobile 3070, albeit more expensive) or a higher-powered alternative.

My GE66 should be arriving tomorrrow. Will be interesting to compare with my 115 W 2060 (85 W from factory but, er, modified... :D)
