FX53 or X2 4600+

At the moment I am running an FX53 but I have been given a X2 4600+. Would it be beneficial to change to the dual core AMD or stick with the FX53??

I mainly use my pc for gaming and using XP but I do have Vista which I will install at a later date.

Any help or opinions would be appreciated

No the FX is not overclocked.

Thats what I'm leaning towards doing Dark_Angel. The FX is a good chip but I think it may be time try dual core.

Gone for the X2, all installed and running

So now to flog that FX53, anyone got any idea on how much its worth??

Btw the amd X2 4600 has only got 512KB level 2 cache per core the X2 4400 has 1MB level 2 cache per core and is less expensive

Damn. But then beggars can't be choosers when they are given the X2 for free
