As per title I'm looking to upgrade my cpu and mobo (and possibly ram).

I think i have settled on the i5 4690k for my cpu, but not too sure when it comes to the mobo.
My current system was the spec ops bundle from 2012, I think the ram was Geil dragon something or other, I have 16gb but not sure if it wil be compatible with a Z97 mobo?

So any advice would be appreciated. Is this a worthwhile upgrade? I use my pc nearly exclusively for gaming, my current gpu is a sapphire fury pro, and thinking about xfiring it in the new year.

Cheers.

DDR3 Ram should be compatible.

ASUS or Gigabyte for the mobo.

For Xfiring, I would say buy the i7 CPU

what kind of res do you play at or plan on playing at? at 1080 the 8350 will hold back xfired fury's but if gaming at 4k it's fine.

you after high FPS or high res?

I have a benq xl2730z 1440p 144z monitor, so high res and high fps would be nice :)

I looked at the i7 4790k, but reading up on it the general consensus seemed to be it was a bit overkill for just gaming. I dont mind dropping the £ if it is the best upgrade option however.
