Hi all,
I bought a motherboard to test an FX9590, and was under the (mistaken) impression that so long as it was a 990FX, it would do the job. The board I got was an ASRock 990FX Extreme3, which I now discover is not up to it, because the board posts and lets me muck around in the BIOS, but will not boot windows - it says CPU is not on supported list, or something similar.
Nevertheless, is this amount of functionality enough to confirm that the CPU is probably working?
